LowerManhattan.info launch

« back

Did you know that LowerManhattan.info was launched just prior to the one-year anniversary of 9/11?

On September 4, 2002, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Gov. George Pataki announced the launch of LowerManhattan.info -- a website designed to serve as a reliable, up-to-date news source for people who live in, work in, and visit New York's downtown. Led by the City of New York in partnership with the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, New York State, and the federal government, LowerManhattan.info provides information about plans to rebuild the area around Ground Zero, transportation improvements, downtown history, business development, and community involvement, as well as interactive maps and many other features.

Since its launch, LowerManhattan.info has undergone several transformations in order to better fulfill its commitment to providing valuable news and information to the community. Now, as it begins its second year, the website continues to evolve -- so please watch for changes and improvements during your visits to the site in coming weeks.
