Pace University is erecting a new, 24-story dormitory at 180 Broadway in the Financial District. Located at the southeast corner of Broadway and John Street, the new dormitory will be the fourth for Pace in Lower Manhattan, and will replace one being leased in Brooklyn Heights.

Contractor Tishman Construction will build the tower following demolition of the multiple low-rise buildings that now occupy the corner lot. Student occupancy is anticipated by the first quarter of 2013.

Superstruction construction follows foundation work through appx. April 2012. Tower crane removal planned for the weekend of April 28, 2012, as permitted by the City.
Facade work from April through October 2012
TCO expected in late 2012; occupancy expected in January 2013
Crews working weekdays from 7a-6p. 6-7am deliveries permitted. Evening hours permitted for concrete finishing operations.
Foundation work completed in mid-December 2011
180-182 Broadway demolition took place from June through August 2011
Contractor Tishman Construction will build the tower following demolition of the multiple low-rise buildings that now occupy the corner lot. Foundation work is planned to take place from September to December 2011, followed by superstructure work through late 2012. Student occupancy is anticipated by the first quarter of 2013. The Temporary Certificate of Occupancy is anticipated in winter 2012/2013.
Both Pace University officials and contractor Tishman Construction are committed to guidelines that will limit hours of noisy work, maintain an orderly work site, and ensure structural integrity of the surrounding buildings. The contractor also is coordinating its trucking and other activities with nearby construction projects, including the MTA’s Fulton Street Transit Center to the north, and 24 John Street to the east.
