The 16-story, white-brick property at 71 Nassau Street, known as the Croft Building, has been converted into 52 residential units. Located at the northwest corner of Nassau and John Streets, the former office building was developed by Skyway Development Group and Yair Levy YL Development. Originally built in 1905, it opened to residents in spring 2006 and is now 100 percent sold.
The Croft Building provides residents with a 24-hour concierge, fitness room, and rooftop terrace. Shamir Shah designed the lobby, which features bamboo resin panels and exotic stones. The one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments have 10- to 13-foot-high ceilings, double-pane windows, and Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances. The building’s original decorative elements have been preserved.
No. The façade was only cleaned and refinished. The Croft Building continues to remain an example of early Manhattan skyscraper construction and Beaux Arts-inspired architecture.
