At the corner of Washington and Rector Streets, a new, 43-story Holiday Inn hotel is under construction since summer 2011. Formerly the site of a parking garage, 99 Washington Street is one of several new high-rise developments in the area south of the World Trade Center. Contractor Cava Construction is building the new tower, which is expected to open approximately April 2013.

Contractor Cava Construction plans to begin construction at 99 Washington Street with pile drilling from appx. July to late summer 2011. Superstructure construction of the new 43-story tower is expected to follow, through spring 2012. The Temporary Certificate of Occupancy is anticipated in April 2013.
