The Sheldrake Organization has built a green luxury condominium in North Battery Park City called Riverhouse, One Rockefeller Park. The development marries neo-green design by Polshek Partnership in collaboration with Ismael Leyva Architects and David Rockwell.

This 32-story, 264-unit luxury condominium features unobstructed views of the Hudson River on one of the last waterfront sites in Manhattan. In addition to its eco-conscious design, Riverhouse offers its residents and the surrounding community an incredible array of amenities including a City Bakery and NY public library branch.

Summary

The building is configured in a U-shape with three sections of differing heights. The river-facing west wing rises 15 floors above street level, and the city-facing east wing rises 13 floors; both feature landscaped roof gardens and sitting areas for building residents and their guests to enjoy. A 32-story south-facing building, housing a magnificent four-story glass enclosed lobby, complete with concierge and doorman, connects the two wings.

The apartments, which range in size from an 838-square-foot one-bedroom to a 2,710 square foot four-bedroom, have high-end, environmentally sound finishes. They have well-equipped gourmet kitchens with Energy Star compliant appliances, granite countertops, and ceramic tile floors. The bathrooms have elegant limestone and marble finishes and designer fixtures. Each unit has laundry facilities designed to receive maximum light and ventilation.

Residents are able to enjoy the use of a state-of-the-art health club as well as an indoor children’s playroom. The building provides attended parking spaces and a bicycle storage room.

In addition, the building houses the neighborhood’s first public library.
