The first deputy executive director is second-in-command to the executive director and chief administrative officer of the agency.
He supports the executive director by working with the public and private partners involved in the rebuilding and revitalization of Lower Manhattan to ensure that the Command Center adheres to the ambitious downtown rebuilding timeline while minimizing the impact of construction on the community.
The first deputy executive director also is responsible for all administrative and operational functions at the Command Center, including start up, communications, community relations, web and marketing, finance, technology, procurement, grant management, human resources, and diversity/equal employment opportunity issues.
He is vigorously involved in every aspect of the day-to-day coordination of construction work downtown, with a concentration on mitigating impacts on mobility, maintaining and improving access, and alleviating congestion of any kind related to construction.
