Construction Coordination and Mitigation Printer Friendly Version

« back

The construction coordination and mitigation department coordinates daily activities, scheduling, and logistics of all construction projects and establishes a master schedule designed to ensure the available and efficient delivery of necessary materials, equipment, and labor to complete the redevelopment plan. At the same time, the department works to mitigate the impacts of construction activity on mobility, maintaining and improving access and alleviating congestion.

The department reviews project plans for constructability, scheduling, engineering, and other construction issues. It also coordinates with high-level construction personnel from key participants in the building process, in both the public and private sector. These efforts include, but are not limited to, providing scheduling information and construction logistics, coordinating utilities, and ensuring environmental, safety, and diversity and equal workforce opportunity compliance.

The department is responsible for ensuring that construction proceeds as scheduled by mediating conflicts and coordinating protocols in conjunction with contract requirements, site security, material and concrete deliveries, equipment movement, and worker access and screening. It also oversees material staging areas, truck access and mobility, demolition and debris removal, and more.
