170 Broadway hotel conversion work began in early 2013

The 17-story 170 Broadway building is now under construction to convert the former office tower into a Marriott Residence Inn. Located at the corner of Maiden Lane, the 243-room, extended-stay hotel was redesigned by architects at New York-based Stonehill and Taylor, with construction led by McGowan Builders. At its base will be 20,000 square feet of retail space. The projects development team is a partnership of the Carlyle Group, Tribeca Associates, and Highgate Hotels. The new hotel is expected to open in approximately spring 2014.
