The dormitory is scheduled to be complete in early 2013

Installation of a tower crane is planned for this weekend at 180 Broadway, on Saturday, January 7th from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. The installation will reduce Broadway to one lane during those hours from Dey to Cortlandt Street, while John Street will be closed to vehicles between Broadway and Nassau Street. The traffic changes are in coordination with the city Department of Transportation, with signs and traffic enforcement agents posted to help redirect motorists.
The tower crane allows contractor Tishman Construction to proceed with superstructure erection on the new, 24-story Pace University dormitory, at the southeast corner of Broadway and John Street. The new, $75 million dormitory is expected to open to students in early 2013, with three stories of retail space planned for its lower floors.
The 180 Broadway contractor also is coordinating its trucking and other activities with nearby construction projects, including the MTA’s Fulton Street Transit Center to the north, and 24 John Street to the east, which will resume work this month.
