6 Platt Street is located at the southwest corner of Pearl and Platt

Foundation work is proceeding at 6 Platt Street, where a new 30-story hotel is being built. Work began there in early 2012, and crews from Golden Pearl Construction are now driving piles to support the future high-rise. The site is located in the center of the Financial District, and was once called 217 Pearl Street. The hotel operator has yet to be announced. Foundation work will continue through June, with superstructure construction to follow through the end of the year. Faade and fit-out work will complete the project in early summer 2013.
