The LMCCC relaunched its downtown air-monitoring page
|
The air-monitoring page of LowerManhattan.info was relaunched this month, with quick-reference daily summaries of the local air-quality index by location. Particulate-matter concentrations are listed for each of the four Lower Manhattan Construction Command Center (LMCCC) air-monitor sites, which form a quadrangle from river to river. The chart also notes wind speed and direction, as well as daily temperatures and air pressure. To compare previous days readings, a date box with calendar is viewable at the top of the page.

To read more about the LMCCC environmental program, the LowerManhattan.info Information Library includes Environmental Compliance reports, surveys, and other references related to air and noise monitoring.
The LMCCC monitors air quality as part of its Executive Orders. The agency maintains four stationary monitoring stations as well as regularly conducting mobile air and noise checks south of Canal Street.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in conjunction with other regulatory agencies, reviews air-quality sampling results collected by the LMCCC and by owners of buildings in various locations in the neighborhood south of the World Trade Center (WTC).
