BPC Vesey Street Made One-Way for Six Months

The change allows SDOT crews to perform utility work and road reconstructio

This weekend, the state Department of Transportation (SDOT) plans to make Vesey Street one-way eastbound in Battery Park City, from West Street to North End Avenue. The temporary traffic pattern will begin Saturday, June 6th, and continue for about six months, through November 2009. Bus stops on the south side of that block will be relocated from the eastern to the western half of Vesey Street.

The change allows SDOT crews to perform utility work and road reconstruction for the Promenade South segment 2 project, in coordination with Battery Park City Authority. During the traffic change, Goldman Sachs construction crews also will work on Vesey Street’s underground utilities.

SDOT crews are currently also at work in the Vesey and West Street intersection, with associated lane shifts. Contact Community Liaison Vivian Wu with questions at 800-714-0454 or at route9a@dot.state.ny.us.
