Brooklyn Bridge ramp and street closures are in effect
|
Nightly traffic reversals on the Brooklyn Bridge remain in effect through the end of the year, and this week crews are implementing the closures a half-hour early, starting at 10:30 p.m. nightly. The extra times lets Manhattan-bound traffic clear and workers install detour signs, to begin work slightly earlier.
Brooklyn Bridge crews also are closing Frankfort Street, between Park Row and Gold, nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., to allow for demolition work on Ramp A from the southbound FDR Drive. The closures are expected to continue through approximately August 10th.
On the weekend of July 14th and 15th, Ramp B from Pearl Street onto Brooklyn Bridge will be closed during the day. Three detour routes will be available during these times:
The city Department of Transportation is still planning full weekend closures of the Brooklyn Bridge to begin in mid-September, with complete details to be posted on LowerManhattan.info.
