Overnight roadway closures on the Brooklyn Bridge resumed April 4th

Starting Monday, April 4th, overnight closures of the Brooklyn Bridge’s Manhattan-bound roadway will resume in order for crews to continue rehabilitation work. The city Department of Transportation will maintain Brooklyn-bound traffic under the “contra-flow” plan, with Brooklyn-bound traffic traveling in the normally Manhattan-bound lanes. Closings are scheduled during off-peak overnight hours, and the bridge will fully re-open to traffic each morning. Closure hours are:

• Sundays to Fridays – 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• Saturdays – 12:01 a.m. to 7 a.m.
• Sundays – 12:01 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Closures will begin slightly earlier at the following two locations for workforce mobilization:

• Brooklyn Bridge/Frankfort Street exit from the northbound FDR will close at 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and at 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Brooklyn-bound drivers can access the bridge via Centre Street during this time.
• Brooklyn Bridge exit for the eastbound BQE will close at 10:30 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Manhattan-bound drivers can access the bridge via Adams Street during this time.

During the closures, construction work on the Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridges as well as on streets around the Brooklyn Bridge will be suspended to maintain detour routes. The pedestrian promenade and bikeway will not be affected.
