Brooklyn Bridge Promenade Narrowed During Rehab

During the city’s Brooklyn Bridge rehabilitation project, crews will maintain pedestrian and bicycle access via the elevated promenade. However, in order to fully enclose the railings and balustrade during paint-removal and repainting, containment units will reduce the width of the path by 1.5 feet on each side, in segments 600 to 1,000 feet long. Cyclists will be directed to dismount and walk through the work zone, which will move across the bridge until the project is complete in 2014.
