Carlisle Reopens, Rector Street Closes October 10

The work is part of the state's Promenade South Segment 2 project
The work is part of the state's Promenade South Segment 2 project

On Saturday, October 10th, the state Department of Transportation will reopen Carlisle Street after several weeks of sub-grade utility work. On the same day, crews will shift their attention to Rector Street, dead-ending the roadway for approximately six weeks. The temporary dead-end on Rector east of West Street (Route 9A) allows for Con Edison manhole construction in the middle of the roadway/crosswalk area. Motorists are advised to use Albany Street between Washington and West Street during the Rector closure. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

The work is part of the state’s Promenade South Segment 2 project; questions can be addressed to Community Outreach Liaison Vivian Wu at 1-800-714-0454 or by e-mail at route9a@dot.state.ny.us.
