Crews are currently work between Nassau and William Streets

On Monday, August 18th, the city Department of Design and Construction (DDC) and Department of Transportation launched the capital reconstruction of Liberty Street. Crews started in the roadway between Nassau and William Streets, and will continue eastward to Water Street over the coming months. The project includes the reconstruction of Maiden Lane from William to Water Streets; and Louise Nevelson Plaza at William and Liberty Streets.

The Liberty Street Reconstruction project is part of the city’s larger plan to improve and update downtown’s infrastructure, and is an extension of the Liberty Street road reconstruction that was completed in 2007 west of Nassau.
