The new hotel opens with 463 suites

The new Conrad Hotel opened March 19th at 102 North End Avenue in Battery Park City. Located between Vesey and Murray Streets, the 16-story luxury hotel replaces the former Embassy Suites, bringing 463 suites to the neighborhood, as well as new full-service restaurant Atrio and rooftop bar Loopy Doopy. The latter takes its name from the 13-foot high original Sol LeWitt piece installed in the hotel’s atrium, entitled “Loopy Doopy Purple and Blue 1999.”

The Conrad is pursuing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification for sustainable building practices and design. Some of its green features include a green roof and chef’s roof garden, public bike racks, low-flow plumbing fixtures, LED lighting, and equipment that contributes to the building’s overall energy efficiency.
