WTC Workers Violate Drinking Policy
June 29 – The New York Post caught WTC construction workers having a ‘liquid lunch’. Their investigation found dozens of hard hats downed as many as 8 drinks during their lunch hour and then went back to work. Drinking alcohol is a violation of the Port Authority and a spokesman said the PA has conducted dozens of sweeps of bars. If it finds a worker is violating that policy, it will confiscate their ID card and work with the contractor to take disciplinary action.
WTC Workers Dismissed
June 30 – Two of the WTC construction workers who were caught drinking during their lunch hour have been fired. The New York Post says Phoenix Construction identified the two after a picture of them at a bar was published. The PA says if it identifies any other workers, they will also be let go.
Battery Park Ferry Terminal Re-Anchored
July 1 - Repairs continue on the Port Authority’s Battery Park Ferry Terminal reported the Battery Park Broadsheet. The repairs are necessary to strengthen the connection between the terminal and shore
