East Houston Traffic and Parking Changes

Utility work is shifting traffic patterns on East Houston Street
Utility work is shifting traffic patterns on East Houston Street

Starting Monday, June 13th, westbound traffic on East Houston Street will be divided into two separate travel lanes from the FDR Drive to Avenue D. Curbside parking also will be eliminated along both the north and south sides of E. Houston Street in that area. The changes are part of the city’s Houston Street capital reconstruction project, which is installing new water mains and other utilities. The Department of Design and Construction expects this traffic and parking change to be in place through September 2011.
