The BPC bikeway detour markings will be improved

Since November 2010, the West Street bikeway has been detoured through Battery Park Citys (BPC) North Cove plaza area between Vesey and Liberty Streets. With the Port Authority and State Department of Transportation (DOT) still performing heavy construction operations along West Street, the bikeway will remain temporarily detoured through BPC. To increase visibility and improve safety, in May the existing route will be enhanced with new markings, including arrows and circular medallions.

Via the detour, southbound bicycle traffic is directed west on Vesey Street, south through the North Cove promenade/plaza to Liberty Street at South End Avenue, then south to Albany Street and east to return to the West Street bikeway.
