If you were a worker or volunteer who provided services in response to the terrorists attacks on September 11, 2001 -- including rescue, recovery, debris removal or restoration of vital support services -- you may be eligible to receive a FREE and CONFIDENTIAL comprehensive medical screening examination under the federally-funded World Trade Center Worker and Volunteer Medical Screening Program.
The examination includes:
- questions related to work history and medical history, focused especially on symptoms of respiratory conditions, nasal/sinus problems, WTC-related injuries;
- a physical examination by a physician;
- complete blood count, routine blood and urine tests;
- breathing tests;
- a chest x-ray;
- evaluation of stress-related effects.
Each participant will receive referrals for follow-up medical care and benefits as well as entitlement information if needed. A confidential written report of examination results will also be provided. All individual examination results will be kept strictly confidential. No information about any individual will be provided to anyone other than the person examined without his or her written consent.
