Fulton Street Work Expands Eastward

Water main work moves east on Fulton
Water main work moves east on Fulton

The next segment of Fulton Street Corridor water main installation work begins Monday, October 29th, between William and Gold Streets. The work is an extension of infrastructure work already active on Fulton at Broadway and on the east side of Gold Street.

The work includes excavation, utility updates, and water main installation on the southern half of Fulton on that block, with one lane of moving traffic maintained. Crews are scheduled to work weekday double shifts, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with a third shift planned from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for non-noisy work.

This segment will be under construction for approximately eight weeks, through late 2007. Sidewalks will remain open, and commercial deliveries and emergency access will be maintained. The entire first phase of Fulton Street Corridor reconstruction is expected to continue through 2009; approximately 30 percent of the project is already complete.
