A crane is headed to 40 Gold Street this week, as erection of the future 14-story superstructure continues. With the crane in place, Gold Street is closed between Fulton and John Streets through late August 2009. Construction of the residential building began in fall 2008, following demolition of the two-story structure that previously stood at the site. The new tower is expected to open in January 2010.
