Final asphalt restoration is headed to Nassau and John Streets
|
Completion of two segments of both Nassau and John Streets and their intersection requires intermittent full roadway closures for three weekends in August. City Department of Design and Construction crews will close Nassau Street between Maiden Lane and John Street from Saturday at 10 a.m. through Monday at 8 a.m. on the weekends of August 4th, 11th, and 18th.
Closures of John Street between Broadway and William Street also are planned for three Saturdays, August 4th, 11th and 18th, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day.
The closures allow crews to perform final utility work on the two streets, then install the final concrete road base and pave with new asphalt. Sidewalks will remain open at all times, as will access to buildings and businesses. Both sections of work are part of the Fulton Phase 3 infrastructure project, which also includes the block of Nassau Street between John and Fulton. Final curb and sidewalk replacement on William between John and Ann Streets also is taking place this summer.
