The report evaluates the flow of material, labor, and equipment

Planning for the supply and demand of construction-related issues in Lower Manhattan is critical to maintaining momentum and a high quality of life downtown. To help coordinate over $20 billion of public and private works now underway south of Canal Street, the Lower Manhattan Construction Command Center’s (LMCCC) has revised its periodic “Logistics Report.”
The 44-page report evaluates the flow of material, labor, and equipment for downtown construction projects. The supply is based on historic, industry, and published data; the demand is based on available schedules and other unique project details.
One of its main conclusions is that Lower Manhattan’s “peak construction” period will occur in late 2009 through 2010 -- with commercial construction accounting for 40 percent of all construction, followed by residential at 26 percent.
Within the report, the LMCCC has created an all-projects map of the various construction sites, divided into 20 sections to show exact locations of projects spanning the World Trade Center, new private towers, utility and street work, transit construction, and renovation and parks projects. Downtown construction projects of all sizes are accounted for in the report, with estimations for future construction activity.
The report also notes major regional projects as logistical factors for concrete, steel, trucking, cranes, and other demands.
