The 10 a.m. traffic reversal start time will be intermittent for several weeks
|
Starting February 1, 2012, the lower roadway of the Manhattan Bridge will be open to Brooklyn-bound traffic from 10 a.m. through evening rush hours, including Saturdays when crews are at work. This will allow the city Department of Transportation’s rehabilitation contractor to work on the south side of the bridge, with one lane closed. The 10 a.m. traffic reversal start time will be intermittent for several weeks, then be a daily occurrence from March 5th through approximately June 2013.
During the lower-roadway reversals, all Manhattan-bound traffic will use two lanes of the north upper roadway. Alternate routes should be considered to avoid potential traffic delays.
Questions about the Manhattan Bridge rehabilitation (city project No. BRC156R) can be addressed to the project’s Community Liaison Teresa Toro at (347) 325-1622 or manhattanbridgeoutreach@gmail.com, or by calling 311.
