The site is a reference of retailers and service providers in the area

With more than three dozen businesses located around the future Fulton Street Transit Center, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is lending a helping hand during construction. This week, the agency launched the new “Shop Fulton Street” business-listings webpage that includes the majority of businesses in the vicinity, along with their locations and contact information: http://www.mta.info/nyct/FultonBusiness/index.html.
The new Shop Fulton Street webpage is an easy reference for local residents and workers to connect with retailers and service providers in the area. It includes listings for shops on Fulton, as well as John and William Streets.
Construction of the Fulton Transit Center has made great headway over the past two years, with the main building’s site -- located at the southeast corner of Broadway and Fulton Street -- now up to street level. In January 2011, a tower crane will be installed at the site to begin structural steel installation in February, taking the building up four stories (54 feet tall), with its iconic oculus on top (measuring 106 feet tall).
Meanwhile, renovation of the Corbin Building, erection of the new Dey Street Entryhouse, and construction of several new east-side entrances are making good progress. This month, new escalators will be delivered, and crews will continue their work rehabilitating the 4/5 Fulton Street platform roof on Broadway south of Fulton. Though areas of the new Transit Center continue to open as they are completed, full completion is on schedule for 2014.
