Nassau Street Work Extends Southward in January

Pedestrian and business access will be maintained at all times
Pedestrian and business access will be maintained at all times

Starting the week of January 3, 2011, the city Department of Design and Construction will extend the capital reconstruction of Nassau Street southward to the roadway between John Street and Maiden Lane. The curb-to-curb infrastructure project will close that block of Nassau to vehicles for the duration of the project, through approximately June 2011. Once complete, crews will shift to the block between John and Fulton Streets. Project scope includes installation of new water main and other utilities, improving drainage, and restoration of the roadway, sidewalks and curbs.

Pedestrian and business access will be maintained at all times, with designated delivery and garbage pick-up areas. The project is part of the Fulton Corridor Phase 3 project, which also includes curb and sidewalk replacement on sections of both Gold and Pearl Street. Questions can be addressed to the project liaison at (212) 608-2232 or fultonphase3@gmail.com.
