The Nassau-Beekman intersection is part of the Fulton 2 project
|
Weekend restoration of the Nassau Street concrete road base from Beekman to Spruce requires a full daytime closure on Saturday, July 21st. City Department of Design and Construction crews will begin work at 8 a.m., excavating, compacting soil, then installing the road base. Work should conclude by 4:30 p.m., with possible extended hours to 10 p.m. The work is part of the final restoration of Nassau Street following the city's full reconstruction.
The Nassau-Beekman intersection road base also will be restored. No through traffic will be permitted on Beekman between Gold and Park Row; on Nassau Street between Ann and Spruce; or William between Ann and Beekman. Local deliveries will be allowed. Flaggers and signs will be posted in the area to re-route traffic.
Final repaving will take place on a weekend in August on Fulton Street from Cliff to Pearl, and at the Fulton-South Street intersection.
It is part of the Fulton Street Corridor project, for which new water mains, electric and gas ducts, and other utilities were upgraded along Fulton, Nassau, and ancillary streets. Nassau Street utility work was completed earlier in June, and the DDC plans to perform final asphalt paving operations in July.
