The work is part of the Liberty Street Reconstruction project

This month, city crews will begin removing the large sculptures at Louise Nevelson Plaza, located at William and Liberty. The city Design Commission has approved the plan for the steel sculptures’ removal and preservation, including use of a crane to lift them. Part of the Liberty Street Reconstruction project, the plaza will be fenced in starting November 7th, 2008, and will be excavated starting mid-November. Underground utility work and reconstruction will follow through spring 2009. Reconstruction crews are already at work on Liberty Street west of William, and on Pearl Street north of John.
