The city Parks & Recreation Department is making progress on its East River Slips projects. Nearby at the southeastern edge of Chinatown, Parks Department crews also are proceeding with reconstruction of the Pike-Allen Street pedestrian malls. Currently, phase 1 work between South and Madison Streets in on track for late-June completion. Phase 2 work will continue the mall rebuilding and bikeway improvements to the blocks between Grand and Delancey Streets, starting approximately early summer 2011 through early 2012.
