The project has made steady progress since it began in August 2011

Peck Slip capital reconstruction has made steady progress since it began in August 2011, and now city Department of Design and Construction (DDC) crews have shifted their work to the south side of the street. The new traffic pattern will allow two-way traffic on North Peck Slip, with vehicles traveling on the concrete road base. Final cobblestone repaving will take place in warmer weather this spring.

On South Peck Slip, one-way, westbound traffic is maintained between Water and Front Street; a full closure is in effect between South and Front Streets. Parking is completely restricted on Peck Slip during the project.

Elsewhere on the project, Beekman Street reconstruction is now complete and traffic has been restored between South and Front Streets. Cobblestone repaving will take place this spring.

Additionally, Water Street remains fully closed to traffic between Beekman and Peck Slip, for water-main and other utility installation.
