Upcoming public meeting to discuss plan for building's deconstruction
|
The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC) will host a public information session to discuss the planned deconstruction of the building at 130 Liberty Street -- also known as the Deutsche Bank Building -- on Monday, January 24. The meeting will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. in St. John's University's Saval Auditorium, located at 101 Murray Street.
On December 13, 2004, the LMDC released a draft of the Phase I Deconstruction Plan for the building at 130 Liberty Street, and formally submitted the plan to the regulatory agencies for review. The draft plan, along with answers to frequently asked questions, is available on the LMDC website.
At the public information session, the LMDC, its contractors, and consultants involved in the deconstruction of the building at 130 Liberty Street will present an overview of the draft plan for the initial phase of the deconstruction process, which includes the cleaning of the building's interior and the removal of interior, non-structural materials. The LMDC will discuss the means and methods proposed for these plans along with the regulations the project will adhere to. The presentation will also include up-to-date information on the timing and next steps of the deconstruction project.
The public will have the opportunity to present questions and comments about the draft Phase I Deconstruction Plan both verbally and in writing at this meeting. Submissions will be reviewed and considered while the deconstruction plan for the building is finalized. Comments may also be submitted in writing via the internet at www.renewnyc.com or sent to:
