Rector Street Bridge Closed

Work is expected to last eight weeks
Work is expected to last eight weeks

On Monday, March 9th, the state Department of Transportation closed the Rector Street Pedestrian Bridge due to unsafe façade conditions at 40 Rector Street. The bridge had been scheduled to close for eight weeks starting March 18th for east-tower stairway and platform work. However, with today’s closure, the bridge will remain closed until further notice is given. Pedestrians crossing West Street (Route 9A) should use the alternative at-grade crossings at either Albany Street or West Thames Street. Detour signs are posted at both ends of the bridge.
