The five-story former commercial building at 87 Leonard Street is on its way to becoming a new residence, with renovation work launching there in January 2012. Brooklyn-based Foremost Contracting is working to convert the building to residential units, and add one floor, through approximately March 2013. Located on the block between Broadway and Church Street, the contractor will occupy the curb lane on Leonard Street for the project’s duration.
