Taste of Tribeca, this Saturday
|
Lower Manhattan denizens will get a chance to sample the fare of more than 50 neighborhood restaurants and food purveyors when the ninth annual Taste of Tribeca festival is held on Saturday, May 17. The event, which takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Duane Street between Greenwich and Hudson Streets, raises money for arts programs at the nearby Public Schools 150 and 234.
For $40, attendees can choose up to six tasting plates -- sampling salads, sandwiches, and signature dishes from leading area restauranteurs. In many cases there will be the opportunity to meet the chefs behind the culinary creations.
Taste of Tribeca also features storytelling, face painting, and other activities for children, a variety of musical entertainment for adults, plus neighborhood walking tours.
In the event of rain, festivities will take place at P.S. 234, located at Greenwich and Chambers Streets.
