The new hotel is expected to be complete approximately spring 2014

Construction of a new 18-story Aloft Hotel began in February 2012 at 49 Ann Street, between Nassau and William Streets. General contractor Metal Stone Construction is building the new boutique hotel, which is part of an international chain affiliated with the W Hotel. The building will replace two low-rise structures that were demolished in summer 2011. Foundation work is now underway through early summer 2012. The new tower is expected to be complete approximately spring 2014.
