Weekend Closures of Nassau/Beekman Intersection

The closures are an extension of the current ongoing work

Starting this weekend, the intersection of Nassau and Beekman Street will be closed for the city Department of Design and Construction’s capital street reconstruction. The closures are an extension of the weekday work already active between Nassau Street and Park Row, which includes sewer and other utility upgrades along with new sidewalks and curbs. The intersection closures will continue for approximately six months, through October 2009.

Weekend work will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day, with all traffic except emergency vehicles restricted. Parking garage access will be maintained on Beekman via William Street, and signs will be posted to redirect traffic. The intersection will be plated and reopened at the end of each work day.

Across City Hall on Park Place, crews will shift their reconstruction work to the north half of the block between Broadway and Church Street on Monday, May 4th. Park Place will remain eastbound through the end of the project, now slated for October 2009.
