Battery Park Underpass lane closures are planned, part of the West St. Promenade 2 project

Starting Monday, October 29th, one lane of the eastbound tube of the Battery Park Underpass (from West Street to the FDR Drive) will be closed on weeknights. During the closures the state Department of Transportation (SDOT) will be replacing pre-cast concrete wall panels. Lane-closure hours will be Monday through Friday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Saturday morning 1 to 8 a.m. The operation will continue through approximately Saturday, November 17th.

The work is part of the SDOT West Street Promenade project, and is being coordinated with work continuing on West Street (Route 9A) at both the World Trade Center and the World Financial Center, as well as along the East River Waterfront.
