Curb and sidewalk replacement will occur through late April
|
Work on New York Stock Exchange–area streetscape and security improvements is back underway in the Financial District. City crews resumed curb and sidewalk replacement this week on Nassau Street between Pine and Wall Streets, through late April 2008. In the coming weeks, they are also re-anchoring the bronze “no gos” (large bollards) at Broadway and Wall Street and Broadway and Exchange Place.
On Broad at Beaver Street, utility relocation is taking place through late June 2008. That work precedes the installation of “turntable” barriers, slated for June through August 2008. The turntables will be used at that location instead of Delta barriers now in place on Nassau at Pine, Wall and William Streets, and other locations.
This NYSE streetscape project follows phase-one improvements to beautify the all-pedestrian zone while providing additional security. The city Economic Development Corporation launched the second phase with the help of a $15 million grant from the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation.
